Safety Coordinator (Finance)
As the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in leading, supporting, and managing various aspects of our EHS programs, processes, and safety culture. Your responsibilities will encompass administrative, field, and technical support to the EHS team, ensuring compliance and fostering a safe work environmental across our lines of business, of aggregate mining.

Champion adherence to all safety, health, environment and quality policies and procedures among field operations teams.
Maintain a high level of EHS compliance and awareness at company jobsites by conducting audits, site visits, training, and documenting deficiencies.
Conduct internal quality control audits, provide reports, and collaborate with leadership on findings to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Provide quality on-site job coaching and development to enhance employee knowledge and safety awareness.
Lead and participate actively in safety committees and event learning teams, contributing valuable insights and ideas to improve safety performance.
Serve as a system user and subject matter expert for EHS applications and IT systems.
Lead and support various aspects of the EHS programs and initiatives, fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Handle critical and confidential information with professionalism, ensuring it is shared only on a "need to know" basis.
Collaborate with leadership and other teams as needed to support EHS goals and objectives.
Conduct accident prevention training and MSHA training
Inspect heavy equipment for unsafe workplace conditions
Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures
Help drive safety improvement by promoting a proactive safety culture.
Conduct MSHA training, including 40-hour Newly Employed Inexperienced Miner, Experienced Miner, and Annual Refresher Training.
Facilitate MSHA while they are on site conducting compliance or other duties.
Conducting and assisting with Incident Investigations.
Conducting and assisting with Job Hazard Analysis for new and non-routine jobs.
Education/Experience
High School diploma
4-5 years of relevant experience in mining
Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision
1-2 years' experience in mine Safety & Health or equivalent time as a supervisor or Lead person in mining
General Requirements
Mobility to attend various meetings, sites, and events at offsite locations with some overnight stays required.
Regular and timely attendance
Ability to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice
Must possess a valid Driver's license and a good driving record.
