Calibration Specialist (Finance)
The CS will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to help perform calibrations and maintenance as needed, especially on more complex calibrations. The CS will be responsible for tracking upcoming work and schedule calibration needs within Nelson Laboratories with outside contractors.
Essential Duties:
MMO functions
• Maintain, trouble-shoot, repair, and calibrate all laboratory equipment and measuring devices,
• working alongside the Maintenance Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service to laboratory personnel regarding equipment operations
• and specifications.
• Continuous improvement of MMO processes
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment to meet laboratory needs
• Provide support to outside sponsors/vendors equipment on startup and operation.
• Assist in the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
• Assist in equipment and procedure validations.
• Assist in facility maintenance functions with the facility manager and project manager.
• Determine calibration and maintenance requirements and write necessary procedures.
• Create and maintain calibration and maintenance procedure files.
• Manage outside contractors performing calibration work in house or off site.
• Serve as responsible person for all calibration SOP's.
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians.
• Proficiency in Project Management skills and experience leading small projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer experience, Microsoft office suites

• Ability to work and communicate with senior management and audit teams in a
• professional manner.
Work Environment:
• This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses
• standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, telephones,
• photocopiers, projectors, and file cabinets.
• May occasionally work in temperatures above 95 degrees and below 32 degrees.
• May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Will climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis during each shift.
• Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
Travel requirements.
Occasional travel during the business day. Some out-of-the area and overnight travel may be
expected. May be required to attend trade shows, seminars, and conferences in addition to sales
travel.
Physical requirements:
• Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• More than 70% of time spent walking, lifting, or moving equipment.
• 30% of time spent on the computer.
Education and experience requirements:
• A.A. / A.S.in applicable field; B.S. Strongly preferred
• Extensive experience with equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Applicable experience and training calibration
