Radiotherapy Service Engineer lll (Healthcare)
This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and the mental competencies of this job require that the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, routine, and emergency repair of linear accelerators, associated equipment and systems, and other electronic equipment at CARTI facilities. Provides appropriate documentation of all maintenance work performed.Orders parts, tools, and supplies. Provides appropriate documentation for all inventory items received, transferred or disbursed. Performs annual inventory.Maintains work order and inventory database. Develops reports and spreadsheets from CMMS data and reviews for accuracy and completeness. Provides reports to Director of Engineering and other administrative staff as required.Installs and repairs computer and network equipment and performs software maintenance as required for service of radiotherapy equipment.Communicates to the Director of Engineering the anticipated need for parts and estimated costs for budget purposes.Handles assigned responsibilities and projects in a professional manner with a minimum of supervision required.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Subject to overtime, call-back and weekend work, often with little advance notice.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: an associate or college degree in a technical field.Must maintain a valid Arkansas Drivers License.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Five years experience in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of radiotherapy linear accelerators.Vendor technical training on linear accelerator service.Knowledge and skills in mathematics, physics, and engineering, as required for maintenance of medical treatment devices.In-depth knowledge of digital and analog electronics theory as required for maintenance of all electronic equipment.Competency and knowledge in computer repair, to include: component replacement, OS install, network configuration, and basic configuration and commands.Competency in the use of CMMS software.Knowledge of institution and departmental policies and procedures and quality control guidelines.Knowledge of high-voltage and radiation safety procedures.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

Intermittent requirement to lift, manipulate and hold moderate and heavy loads.Manual dexterity and visual acuity needed to remove and replace electronic components and to repair circuit boards.

This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Team members are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
