Assistant Manager of Mariner Training and Development (Education)
Join a leading company in the Maritime Industry in a critical role on our Training and Development team! Moran Towing Corporation (www.morantug.com) has an exciting opportunity available as an Assistant Manager of Mariner Training and Development in our New Canaan, CT office. This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in the office 3 days per week. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director of Enterprise Learning and Development.
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager of Mariner Training and Development plays a pivotal role in designing, managing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for Moran's Deck, Engine, and Safety personnel. This role is essential in ensuring Moran's operational excellence and supporting its commitment to zero harm to people, property, and the environment.
As part of Moran's Training and Employee Development team, the Assistant Manager of Mariner Training and Development assists in the development and oversight of all mariner training initiatives with a specific emphasis on engineering and deck department skill competencies, including auditing current deck and engineering training, collaborating with operations and engineering departments to develop new training, and instructing engineering and deck related courses. This position requires expertise in assessing training needs, creating hands-on and classroom learning opportunities, and ensuring alignment with industry regulations and company standards.
This position is based in New Canaan, CT, enabling close collaboration with the Training and Employee Development team and senior management.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
Instruct and Manage Current Training Programs (30% of time)
Support Engineering-Focused Training (15% of time)
Manage and Update Training Books and Reference Manuals (15% of time)
Develop and Deliver New Training (20% of time)
Continuous Improvement of Training Material and Processes (20% of time)
Promote Corporate Culture (Always)
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Moran Towing Corporation offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target pay range for the Assistant Manager of Mariner Training and Development position is $75,000 -$110,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
