Senior Development Associate (Marketing)

Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and one other day, to be determined by their business unit. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
DEVELOPMENT DIVISION OVERVIEW

The Development Division is responsible for raising funds from individuals and institutions. It plays a vital role in helping to finance broadcast, video, digital, and audio programs, including celebrated dramas, investigative journalism, documentaries, children's media, podcasts, and other local and national programming in the public media system.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Development Associate is a versatile writer with a passion for public broadcasting and educational media. Reporting to the Director of Project Development and Operations and a member of the Foundation Development team, the Senior Development Associate handles stewardship responsibilities and helps develop solicitation materials for a dynamic portfolio of grants and GBH initiatives.
Working closely with the Senior Director of Institutional Development and/or other lead fundraisers, the Senior Development Associate develops reports and other written materials and tracks all funder obligations in coordination with production units and other GBH administrative offices. The Senior Development Associate also shepherds grants through the appropriate internal processes and plays a key role in keeping departmental data and information systems up to date. In addition, the Senior Development Associate may be tasked to help draft or contribute to LOIs and proposals, conduct research, maintain and improve systems and operations and provide administrative support.
This position contributes to the success of GBH's fundraising efforts and ultimately supports GBH's mission while contributing to the organization's positive, creative, professional, and collegial environment. This position is located in Boston, MA, and requires on-site presence
What you get to do:
Manage stewardship activities for a portfolio of open grants. This includes maintaining a calendar of deadlines and managing the timelines of the work, gathering necessary information from other GBH departments, drafting, finalizing, and submitting interim and final reports to funders in a timely manner, ensuring proper funder crediting, and cultivating funders through other opportunities.
Oversee and execute relevant administrative support and departmental processes for grant stewardship, including grant processing, contract review management, database entry and reports, filing documents on the server, correspondence, and other tasks as assigned.
Help craft and/or assemble letters of inquiry, project descriptions, proposals, and other materials required for funding requests to foundations, working in close coordination with the Senior Director of Institutional Development and/or lead fundraiser, the project lead, and other internal stakeholders.
Support department on general writing and/or research duties as assigned, including providing current information for briefings and drafting and/or assembling other communications or documents.
Stay abreast of GBH projects and activities by attending other departments' team meetings and institutional presentations, reading proposals and treatments, and viewing and/or reviewing final grant products as appropriate (including on broadcast to ensure accurate crediting).

Excellent written communication skills.
Be able to assemble information and present it in a clear, well-organized, and compelling way.
Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
A high degree of experience and skill in effectively managing multiple priorities, competing requests, and complex projects over time.
Be highly computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and working in relational databases.
Be willing to handle administrative tasks, be flexible, and be able to work within a team-oriented environment to support the overall goals for the department and GBH.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
3-5 years of work experience, ideally in a writing-intensive role.
