The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. [Travel is expected to be no more than 10% of time.
The Individual Life Statutory Valuation and Capital Management team is seeking an Associate Actuary with a technology and innovation mindset to join the team responsible for reporting of formulaic statutory, tax, and GAAP reserves. The associate will play a key role in the execution of ILI Valuation's monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes. Additionally, this associate will continue to drive progress and innovation in Project SLAM (Statutory Liability Automation modernization). This project will transform our statutory reserve reporting process.
What you can expect:
This associate will exhibit strong technical and communication skills in building our reporting analytics and working closely with our technology partners in building out solutions to automate quarterly and annual regulatory reporting. This will require the use of data visualization tools such as PowerBI to further enhance analytics and data deliveries to our business partners. This individual will be proactive in partnering with our EXL associates to drive change and transforming our valuation capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and effectively communicate financial information for various customers (e.g. FSS, Finance, Tax, Treasury, etc.) and understand and explain the drivers of reserve movements.
• Develop and Implement process enhancements based on business value (operational, financial, insights, foundational).
• Earn confidence and trust by demonstrating ownership, commitment, and follow-through in delivering accurate and timely results.
• Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Serve as a thought leader for peers in driving awareness around innovative technology solutions.
What you'll need:
• Enthusiastic, curious, resourceful, and a self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Takes ownership of professional development of self and team.
• Ability to grasp complex subject matter, provide insightful analysis, and develop innovative solutions.
• Experience with industry standard data analysis and visualization software, such as SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills with ability to present technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with actuarial concepts, financial reporting, and/or individual life insurance products a plus (but not required).
• Progress towards or attainment of Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
