Flexo Folder Gluer Helper (Finance)
Shift Differential: 0.50cent additional per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts
Position Summary:
The Folder Gluer Helper assists and supports the Folder Gluer Operator in keeping the equipment running efficiently. The Folder Gluer Helper will primarily feed the machine to maintain accurate and efficient production of materials. This person will also provide support with the setup and operation of the equipment. The Folder Gluer Assistant is to be trained to act as a Backup Folder Gluer Operator.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
Set up the feeder and keep it running properly
Review the schedule and stage required stock and materials needed for upcoming jobs
Assist with the machine setup in a timely manner for various sizes of product
Distinguish between different carton stock types and their specific performance characteristics
Distinguish between different carton styles and functionality
Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Be competent in the tasks required to be able to move between all folder gluer and finishing equipment and shifts to fill for vacation and absences as needed, and to rotate positions during the shift
Work as a team to run the folder gluers through breaks and shift changes
Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Work Experience
Flexo experience desired

Mechanical aptitude
Must have good color perception
Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses
