Procurement and Logistic Specialist, Senior (Project Management)

The Senior Procurement Specialist works closely with the AVP to identify varied sources of commodities and services, bids, contracts and purchase orders, helps to develop standards for new products or services, maintains contact with vendors, and maintains comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices. Aids the AVP in all aspects of CARTI's business to ensure the effective use of funds by the organization.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Negotiating and contract management skills
Proven track record in management of a centralized purchasing, receiving and distribution area
Proficient in the design, maintenance and administration of Inventory management systems, policies and procedures.
Good understanding of internal controls as it relates to Inventory management and reporting.
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access
Organizational skills for efficient office control
Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Solid decision-making skills.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Management, Healthcare Administration or similar field preferred.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

5 years related to administrative, managerial experience in purchasing, receiving and inventory management in the Healthcare industry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
