Staff Accountant (Finance)

Job description

We are seeking a motivated financial accounting professional who can make a meaningful impact and pursue continued career growth with Genesis Products. This role will support numerous functions within the accounting department, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as balance sheet and expense account analysis and working with Genesis financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Build an in-depth understanding of the Genesis organization, financial processes, systems and standards of practice
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and communicate effectively with key process partners externally
• Proactively help manage accounting functions and improve processes
• Ensure vendor invoices are valid and accurate 
• Maintain balance sheet and expense accounting, including monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Execute time-sensitive work to achieve results within deadlines
• Recommend process improvements to enhance controls, financial performance and data reliability
• Support audit and tax requests annually in relation to role scope
• Other financial and analytical projects as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• High level of proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
