Livestreaming Studio Operator (Creative Design)
Livestream & Studio Operations
Operate and manage all Virtual Y live broadcasts, ensuring professional-quality video and audio.
Oversee livestreaming technology, including Livestream Studio software, Blackmagic cameras, microphones, and camera switchboards.
Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues during livestreams to minimize disruptions.
Ensure sound mixing quality, balancing instructor microphones with background music for an optimal experience.
Pre- & Post-Production Tasks
Collaborate with instructors and content creators to plan livestream sessions and optimize technical execution.
Edit and archive livestream footage for on-demand access.
Manage Virtual Y's streaming platform, scheduling streams and uploading content as needed.
Studio & Equipment Management
Maintain and organize all studio equipment, ensuring proper setup, storage, and security.
Keep inventory of equipment (batteries, cables, microphones, etc.) and order replacements as needed.
Train and support instructors on best practices for microphone use, camera presence, and interacting with a livestream audience.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the AVP of Digital Marketing & Platforms who reports to the Senior Vice President of Digital and Strategy. The incumbent regularly works with instructors, content creators, and other Virtual Y team members to ensure the successful execution of livestreams. The role may also provide guidance to part-time staff, volunteers, or other team members involved in live production.
4. Qualifications
Required
Minimum two (2) years' experience in media, broadcast or production.
Proficient in Livestream Studio software, Blackmagic cameras, camera switchboards, and professional audio equipment.
Ability to diagnose and resolve livestreaming issues in real time.
Understanding of microphone setup, volume balancing, and background music integration.
Familiarity with content management systems for livestream scheduling, uploading, and user engagement tracking.
Ability to Work Independently. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple livestreams across locations.
Strong attention to detail in managing, maintaining, and securing camera and streaming equipment.
Preferred
Degree or certification in broadcasting, digital media, or video production is a plus.
Bi/Multilingual.
5. Work Conditions:
Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods.
Must be able to travel locally for meetings.
Must be able to work on-site at Southdale or Gaviidae Studios
Must be able to lift and move camera equipment.
Require flexibility to accommodate live production schedules.
