Position Summary:
The Financial Data Analyst will play a key role in analyzing financial data, developing reports, and creating dashboards that provide actionable insights to leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, data modeling, and business intelligence tools to support financial planning, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
What youll be doing:
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support financial and operational decision-making.Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from the internal data warehouse.Partner with finance, operations, and IT teams to streamline reporting processes and automate manual tasks.Perform variance analysis, trend identification, and KPI tracking to support strategic planning.Assist in building and maintaining financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.Ensure data integrity and accuracy by validating and reconciling financial datasets across Microsoft D365 F&O and other systems.Support ad-hoc reporting requests and provide insights on key financial metrics to leadership.Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiencies in data reporting and analytics.
What youll need:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or a similar role.Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query), SQL, and experience with data visualization techniques.Familiarity with Microsoft D365 F&O or similar ERP systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for finance and operations teams.Experience working with large datasets and financial reporting tools.Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry.Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and financial reporting automation.Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial statements.
