ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.) Supports the Nursing Department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures and ensuring the standard of care is consistent with philosophies and objectives of the Nursing Department. 2.) Serves meals, nourishments and liquids to residents. Assists those residents who require help. Reports any changes in eating and drinking habits to Charge Nurse, documents changes appropriately. 3.) Transports residents throughout the facility as needed and may on occasion accompany residents to off-site appointments and/or activities. 4.) Takes temperature, pulse, respiration rates and weighs residents as directed. Reports any abnormal value to Charge Nurse promptly. 5.) Records bowel movements, intake and output as per policy and procedure. 6.) Makes resident beds and handles soiled bed linens as per policy and procedure to avoid spread of infection. 7.) Disinfects and sanitizes nursing equipment and work areas. Maintains a clean, safe work environment. Tides resident rooms, closets, dressers etc.. 8.) Accurately and thoroughly completes required reports and other documentation in a timely manner.
