Job Overview: We are currently seeking a talented Mechanical or Chemical engineer to join our Engineering Team, located in Burr Ridge, IL. In this role, you will lead the design process including mining requirements, developing specifications, CAD and drawing creation, bill of material, and vendor interactions for new and existing product lines of food freezing equipment. Work closely with the R&D, Application Engineers and Business Development Managers to support the product offerings that meet the unique aspects of our customers' needs and expectations. Additional duties include but are not limited to: - Safety minded engineer who is good at-risk identification and appropriate processes (PHA, DFMEA, etc.). - Work closely with Linde's manufacturing teams on the assembly floor to launch new product offerings and solve any design or performance challenges. - Work independently and make product and technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost and other benefits. - Experience working on project teams, including the customer, to design the equipment so installation and operation achieve intended results at the customers processing facility. - Fast learner who will learn our product lines and look to improve the products and the respective performance. - Work with team members to assist in resolving technical and quality issues - Meets with customers to discuss program growth opportunities, product specifications or improvements. - Travel up to 25% (initially may be higher for onboarding and learning requirements) Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or other related technical discipline required. (Master's Degree Preferred) - Demonstrated 3-dimensional modeling of mechanical systems and an understanding of how to convert 3-dimensional models into two-dimensional engineering drawings required. AutoCAD Inventor is the tool. - Strong Machine design skills with ability to engineer and integrate subsystems including power transmission, conveyors, PLC's, air flow, and the product delivering the thermodynamic requirements. - Firm grasp of the regulatory requirements for food process equipment including. - Willingness to work at the production facility - An understating of control system design (Allen Bradley RS Logix™ 500 and Programming Allen Bradley PanelView™ Plus graphic terminals); experience a plus. Familiar with sensors including pressure, speed, torque, current, etc. - Demonstrated ability to lead programs across multiple organizational disciplines preferred. - Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while prioritizing issues and tasks. - Demonstrated organizational, verbal/written communication, and problem solving/analytical skills - Previous managerial experience a plus.
