Childcare Professional Development Coordinator (Personal Services)
The starting salary range for this position is $57,000-64,000. The compensation package for full-time includes a wide range of benefits (medical, dental, life, disability, and more) as well as generous paid time off and free membership. Part-time benefits will vary. 1. Job Summary: The Workforce and Professional Development Coordinator for Child and Family Wellbeing is responsible for strategic planning and execution of hiring, retention, and professional development initiatives for team members in the Child and Family Wellbeing department. Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding experience, skill-based on-the-job training, and leadership development programs. Establish an internship and apprenticeship program to create a sustainable pipeline of early childhood educators, strengthening the regional workforce, and expanding childcare and early learning capacity for the long term. Serve as a liaison between early childhood and school-age educators and educational systems, ensuring the availability and accessibility of high-quality, research-based professional development opportunities that align with current best practices in early childhood and school-age education. This role is currently funded through 2028 and is contingent on additional grant funding. 2. Essential Functions: Meet or exceed workforce needs by increasing the early childhood educator workforce through education opportunities for early childhood and school-age staff to advance in their profession and fill in-demand positions.Provide functional, technical, and process expertise utilizingthe UKG application.Engage & facilitate in-person/virtual classroom onboarding & training sessions using a blended learning format for YMCA Child and Family Wellbeing team members, leaders and other participants.Oversee quality control and monitor productivity throughout the interview, hiring, and onboarding processes, collaborating with CFWB leaders to ensure timely and efficient recruitment and onboarding efforts. Establish relationships with team members and serve as a support to connecting them with opportunities (trainings, experiences, education).Collaborate with YMCA leaders to support training development strategy and opportunities to enhance team members potential advancement.Connect with post-secondary partners (Minneapolis College, Metro State University, St. Paul College) and Think Small to develop training curricula and a portal unique to the YMCA of the North childcare programs.Lead conversations and offer tools and resources to enhance team member leadership development and career readiness 3. Relationships: This position reports to the Operations Director of Child and Family Wellbeing who reports to the Senior VP of Child and Family Wellbeing. The incumbent works closely with the Child and Family Wellbeing team and develops & maintains strong relationships throughout YMCA of the North. The incumbent regularly interacts with cross-functional partners, program leaders, staff and community partners. 4. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in education, social services, youth development or other related field. Minimum of five (5) years administrative and/or facilitator training experience. Experience engaging adult learners from diverse backgrounds. Anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet multiple deadlines with little supervision. Project management skills with a proven track record of effectively driving process improvement, multitasking and a high attention to detail as well as giving work direction. Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills; ability to effectively coach, counsel, influence and establish rapport with candidates, hiring managers, and external agents. Exercise discretion in matters of candidate, employee and organization confidentiality. Strong operational, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messages for specific audiences Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve a desired result. Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job. Preferred: Degree in education or related field or Meet Rule 3 requirements as a Director Knowledge of DHS Rule 3 Experience working with Kronos Workforce Ready. Bi/multilingual. 5. Work Conditions: Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends as necessary. 6.
