This position plays a significant role in the development and delivery of policy and procedures as well as curriculum in Employee Relations. Primary focus of work involves labor law, policies and procedures, retention, internal investigations and grievances, working closely with management, employees, agencies and legal counsel. This position will also serve as the primary leave administrator. Performs administrative functions for Director of Employee Engagement relative to employment practices and general HR functions/projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the above functions and the following: Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, short-term disability, and other company-provided leaves.Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave requests, eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.Maintain accurate and confidential leave records, tracking employee absences and coordinating with payroll and benefits teams.Provide guidance to managers and employees on leave-related policies and accommodations.Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance concerns, and workplace disputes.Assist in conducting employee relations investigations, gathering documentation, and making recommendations for resolutions.Partner with management to provide guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, and workplace policies.Collaborate with corporate legal counsel and compliance teams regarding employment matters (unemployment, EEOC, SCHAC, etc.)Maintain and update the Employee Manual content to ensure its alignment with current labor law.Manage unemployment insurance processes and monitor program costs.Maintain HR and OPS Employee Relations database and files and perform administrative functions during investigations.Works with Director of Employee Engagement to develop and implement HR fundamentals including policies and procedures to assist in supporting the mission & vision.Other duties as assigned by Director of Human Resources.
