Junior Staff Accountant (Finance)

We have an immediate full-time opening for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of functions in the accounting department. Specifically, this role is the department lead for Accounts Payable, vendor management, check runs and payments, and General Ledger maintenance and reconciliation. In addition, this position assists the Controller in the month end closing process, assists with audit preparation, and is the back-up for the Accounts Receivable function. This role is perfect for the person who is highly motivated and seeking growth opportunities.
What will you do?
On any given day, your responsibilities would include:
- Managing the full cycle A/P process for two locations in accordance with related policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors
- Performing vendor maintenance, including new supplier set-up
- Receiving and verifying invoices for appropriate approval
- Entering invoices into the ERP system
- Processing weekly A/P checks, including ACH and Wire payments
- Approving expense reports
- Reconciling the Accounts Payable aging to the General Ledger
- Performing month end close for Accounts Payable
You are a great fit if you have the following:
- Associate degree in Accounting; Bachelor's preferred
- Experience in Accounts Payable
- Knowledge of the Accounts Payable process
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel (including Pivot tables)
- Manufacturing MRP experience (Navision experience is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- High organization, time-management and prioritization skills
