For more information, visit:www.gpinet.com Responsibilities Apply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadways under the guidance of senior engineersDevelop drawings, technical specifications and cost estimatesActively mentor and providing guidance to less experienced staffProgress and evaluate design details for roadway projects including pavement condition and repair, sidewalk design, signing and pavement markings, complete streets evaluations, highway alignments and minor drainageUtilize MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to develop design plansReview and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverablesInterface with other technical disciplines (Bridges/Drainage/Signals)Attend project meetings and participate in project site visitsAssist with marketing proposal efforts for new roadway projectsServe as Deputy Project Manager or Project Engineer for roadway projects within NYSDOT Regions 4 and 5 and on LDSA Projects for City and County. Qualifications BS Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain5 to 10 years of meaningful experience related to roadway engineering designShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionallyPrepare design criteria using relevant codes and standardsCompetent use of relevant software: MicroStation, and AutoCADPreliminary and final design plan production experienceFamiliarity with MUTCD, AASHTO, and NYSDOT / County / City StandardsGood writing and communication skills a plus
