Licensed, Behavioral Health Clinician (Team Lead) - Law Enforcement/Co Responder (Personal Services)
The Team Lead for the Law Enforcement/Co-Responder Program will role focus on ensuring high-quality crisis intervention services, fostering strong partnerships with law enforcement and community providers, and driving the program's mission to reduce incarceration and emergency department visits for individuals with mental health challenges.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, leadership experience, and a collaborative approach to addressing behavioral health needs within the criminal justice system.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, oversight, and support behavioral health clinicians who work alongside law enforcement officers to address mental health crises. Supervise and support behavioral health clinicians, providing guidance on clinical practices, crisis interventions, and professional development.Conduct regular team meetings to discuss cases, share best practices, and address challenges.
Crisis Intervention & Collaboration
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to manage mental health crises, ensuring individuals are linked to appropriate behavioral health services and diverted from incarceration when possible.Act as the primary liaison between law enforcement, community stakeholders, and mental health providers to optimize outcomes for individuals in crisis.Facilitate coordination between View Point Health programs and external agencies to ensure continuity of care for individuals served.
Training & Development
Oversee the development and delivery of behavioral health and crisis intervention training for law enforcement officers.Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance team competencies and collaboration with law enforcement personnel.
Program Management
Compile and analyze program data, preparing monthly reports and performance metrics.Organize and lead Community Police Collaborative meetings to strengthen stakeholder relationships and improve program outcomes.Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND licensure in the area of assignment AND Three years of experience in the provision of therapeutic services with, One year of which in a supervisory role OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND licensure in the area of assignment AND Three years of experience at the lower level Social Worker, Licensed 3 (HCP052) or position equivalent.
Note: Licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in Georgia
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in crisis intervention, behavioral health, or a related field.Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills.Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement and community partners.Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in compiling data, preparing reports, and presenting program outcomes.
Requirements/Competencies:
Experience working in jail settings and with individuals in the criminal justice system.Experience and Knowledge of the involuntary hospitalization process.Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
