Shift: Full-Time (40 hours per week on average)
Job Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Base Location: Lawrenceville, GA.
Division/Department/Program: Lawrenceville Outpatient Center

At the outpatient centers, we promote overall health and quality of life for individuals, youth and families through evidenced-based therapies and medication management to reduce the impact of mental illness behavior challenges and substance use.
Provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients. May direct clinical operations and participate in research efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reports to Center Director with oversight by Medical Director.
Provides psychiatric services to clients of all ages experiencing mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations, assessments, and ongoing medication management (E&M) to children, adolescents, and adults.
Promote a team approach, work collaboratively with other medical providers, nurses, clinical and clerical teams.
Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and a positive and flexible attitude; must respond well to changing and rapidly shifting program needs.
Effectively communicate with persons of all educational and cultural backgrounds.
Provide excellent client care - is empathetic and supportive to our population while also maintaining good boundaries.
Engages easily with clients and families, impacts a professional and non-judgmental attitude.
Possess thorough knowledge of diagnostic psychiatric assessment and utilizes best practices in treating clients with mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills and proficient in the use of computers and electronic medical records.
Have strong time-management skills, completes documentation within 24-hours per agency deadline, maximizes scheduling to allow for 80% billing of time worked; is open to seeing walk-ins for other medical providers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) AND licensure to practice medicine (psychiatry) at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law AND One year of experience at the lower-level Physician 1 (HCP160) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
MD: Graduation from a medical school recognized by the composite state board of medical examiners
Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Georgia as provided by state law.
Experience providing Substance Abuse treatment & Familiarity with ASAM
Experience with community-based services
Experience with ACT level services
Experience working with the Severe and Persistently Mentally ill population, ACT teams, or individual identified as being frequent users of ERs, Psychiatric Hospitals, Crisis Stabilization Units, and the criminal justice system.
Case management experience
Experience working in a high stress, fast-paced environment with a very emotionally and physically
changing population.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to multi-task and manage time.
Requirements/Competencies:
MD / Doctorate: Graduation from a medical school recognized by the composite state board of medical examiners.
Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Georgia as provided by state law.
Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, move about, hear and speak.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
