What you'll be challenged to do:
The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) plays a key role in supporting our continued growth across North Carolina, assisting with area efforts for transportation infrastructure sectors. The BDC will be assigned to clients and be responsible for developing and executing proposal writing and development for our North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia offices. You will be an integral partner to our other Carolina's Client Service Team members.
This position will work closely with the North Carolina offices in Raleigh, Wilmington, Asheville and Charlotte. Candidates interested in remote work may be considered from other areas such as Georgia or South Carolina. TranSystems embraces an "All-In" client-focused approach recognizing that each person within the company plays a vital role in client service.
While our ideal candidate will bring transportation experience in the A/E/C or A/E/P industry with unique expertise and knowledge of NCDOT, we are looking for someone with a strategic, collaborative, can-do attitude. In addition, we are seeking someone with talent and aptitude in proposal development and production, creativity and storytelling, strategy, and relationship development, to maintain our presence in the North Carolina marketplace.
Your Role and Impact
You will work with marketing and business development teams, client service leaders, and subject matter experts to execute proposals and attend client facing events when able. These activities include proposals, and shortlist interview presentations, client strategy and action planning, conferences, marketing and business development initiatives, and database management.
General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Proposals and Presentations | Pursuit Strategy and Production
You will prepare strategic, client-focused proposals and presentations and statement of qualification responses, participate in creation of PowerPoint presentations for shortlist interviews, and assist in the development of marketing and pre-positioning efforts. In addition, you will be responsible for developing deliverables for teaming partners and creating winning proposal messaging/strategy for prime pursuits. You will be responsible for ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality, creative, and compliant proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
You will brainstorm and strategize with pursuit and client service teams to understand what the client decision-makers need and value. You will provide constructive feedback, pushing ideas further, and debrief proposal outcomes with client service teams, gaining insight on what we did well and where we could do better.
2. Client Service Teams | Client Strategy and Action Planning
Working closely with the North Carolina Client Service Teams, you will participate in client strategy meetings to help us achieve client-specific goals and continue to grow our position in the North Carolina marketplace. In addition, you will work to support actionable plans to strengthen our proposal and presentation materials.
3. Marketing Information System Management (MIS) | Qualifications, Pipeline, Wins and Sales
A responsibility within the role of the BDC is maintaining and updating information in our Marketing Information System (Deltek Vision) to include opportunity data, project information, and resumes. Another important responsibility is capturing high-end descriptions of projects and maintaining up-to-date and current resumes for project teams in Deltek Vision. You may also support the Managers with pipeline, wins and sales reporting, identifying trends and updates on pending wins and sales, and tracking toward the client, area, regional, and market sector sales goals.
4. Your Role and Impact

This role requires self-direction and forward thinking. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
All qualified candidates will be required to provide work samples and asked to participate in proficiency screenings, such as writing, editing, proofing, and presentation creativity.
