Inside Sales Support (Sales)
Obtain customers' names, addresses, product numbers, and specifications of items to be purchased. Enter this information into orders and verify for correctness.
Prepare quotes, sales orders, work orders, credit returns, purchase orders, and stock transfers.
Check inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.
Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing.
Confer with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or supplier personnel to coordinate scheduling deadlines.
Recommend products or services that will meet customers' needs.
Read and interpret blueprints for the accurate takeoff of building material requirements.
Contact suppliers for availability and costs on special order products.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration and promotion of specific projects, as required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma, GED or associate degree required.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Selling building materials and related items preferred.
Other Requirements
Possess a strong willingness to learn the products
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Maintenance of regular attendance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills.
Excellent Verbal & Written Communication along with basic data entry/keyboard skills.
Strong Organizational Skills and Time Management.
Be proactive and self-motivated in learning new product and processes.
Detail Oriented. Can concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
Actively looking for ways to help people and willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Generate or use different sets of rules in writing so others will understand.
Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet sales goals.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear, and operate computer keyboard. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
