Position Summary: Under the supervision of the County Administrator and Assistant County Administrator, this position is responsible all aspects Western State Bank Expo Center management and operations. The employee in this position should possess effective finance, communication, leadership, organizational and public relations skills.

Essential Function Statement(s)
Market the use of the Expo Center through business relationship building, advertising, recruitment, public speaking events and presentations; Administer and enforce all contracts for events held in the Expo Center according to facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Coordinate the review and revision of facility usage policies and fees; Ensure that the facilities and grounds are properly maintained. Reporting any needs to Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor through a written work order; Supervise and support the Event Lead and staff throughout event set up, duration and tear down; Work with the Human Resource department to meet staffing needs including the hiring, discipline and termination of subordinate personnel; Serve as primary contact for event producers. Determine and meet their needs in order to make their event successful and accomplish or exceed their goals. Maintain positive rapport and form strong relationships with producers, local businesses, area tourism agencies, public entities in the promotion of Ford County as a venue of choice; Communicate all event requirements to various committees and community partners by preparing and distributing detailed production notes for each event, and scheduling a production meeting with the various supervisors or department heads (including but not limited to operations, security, food & beverage, media, etc.); Work with other County, State, Federal offices for all aspects of funding, tax reporting, cash management and audit requirements; Communicate and coordinate with County Department Heads and other stakeholders as required per specific event needs; Address questions, concerns and complaints from the general public; Prepare the annual budget for the facility; manage event expenses and keep within budgetary parameters; Determine goals and objectives of the Expo Center; Monitor the event calendar, LED sign and Expo Center website for relevant and accurate information; Supervise the management and organization of event files, which include all pertinent information for venues events;
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.
POSITON QUALIFICATIONS
Possess valid Kansas drivers license I-9 eligible to work in the United States Pass a post offer drug screen, health assessment and background check.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experience: 2 years of business management or a hospitality related field. Experience in rodeo and/or livestock event production is preferred, but not required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of budget, financing and accounting policies and procedures. Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office programs.
Problem Solving: Decision making, effective communication (both written and verbal), and analytical skills are required.
Accountability: Employee is responsible to the County Administrator, the Board of County Commissioner and the Public in general.
Supervision: This position does have supervisory responsibility over subordinate personnel.
Personal Relations: This position does require constant contact with people in various positions, both public and private.
Working Conditions: This position involves work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure to dust, dirt, livestock and heights in excess of 30ft is expected. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, gloves and safety glasses is required occasionally.
