The Maritime Operations personnel is a qualified and authorized employee that operates vessels under direction from the General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate vessels for relocation, haulage, repair, tow, passenger movement or other miscellaneous operationsEnsure passenger safety and provide customer serviceAssist in and/or conduct vessel operations and maintenance as directed by the CaptainMonitor daily progress of the vessel, observing speed, engine pressure and water depths, and signaling any passing shipsAvailable to work overtime when required
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent2-5 years marina experience preferredPrior management experience a plusUSCG Captains License RequiredAbility to work safely around waterMust be able to swimMust have a valid drivers licenseAbility to lift 50 pounds
