Lead Folder Gluer Operator (Finance)
Shift Differential: 0.50cent additional per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts
Position Summary:
The Lead Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for machine set up, provides guidance and direction to assigned crews at the machine, and is responsible for accurate production of materials by operating the folder-gluer machine.
Essential Functions:
Provide guidance and direction to assigned machine crew
Responsible for machine set up
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to guidelines
Be aware of responsibilities and accountability as clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
Distinguish between different carton stock types and their specific performance characteristics
Distinguish between different carton styles and functionality
Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Program and monitor our Leary adhesive detection system(s)
Be competent in the tasks required to be able to move between all folder gluer and finishing equipment and shifts to fill for vacation and absences as needed, and to rotate positions during the shift
Assist the CAD department in development of new designs by explaining equipment specifications
Provide guidance and direction to assigned machine crew
Work as a team to run the folder gluers through breaks and shift changes
Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Flexo experience desired

Travel Requirements
