Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university.
One (1) year of professional experience developing industrial control systems in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
A Masters or Ph.D. degree with demonstrated expertise in industrial controls systems logic and theory
Strong understanding of industrial controls systems logic and theory. Ability to integrate diverse process equipment into a single operation using industry best practices and documentation.
Over 3 years of experience in industrial controls systems and industrial manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience with precision mechanics/mechatronics is preferred
Experience with industrial controls for ultrasonic and robotics is preferred
Evidence of strong, hands-on skills with industrial manufacturing including experience with equipment integration, programming, design for safety, and industrial control systems
Experience with a wide range of PLCs including Beckhoff and Allen Bradley systems.
Skills relating to the following: PLC programming, python or C++ software development, open source software development, Linux operating system, Github
Demonstrated experience with sensor integration and/or feedback control
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to excel in cross-functional environments
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
