ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with instructing and teaching gymnastics programs Comply with all guidelines and requirements Have complete knowledge of emergency procedures appropriate for the site to ensure the safety of the children and record as required May be responsible for monitoring childcare payments, attendance records, and sign in/out sheets Develop and maintain relationships with school district administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs Must provide updated registration information to Program Director Ensure quality control standards and participants safety Treat all children, parents and staff with dignity and respect Follow age-appropriate discipline policy Interact with the children and provide positive role model during all activities Be dependable, punctual and organized Be responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the learning environment of the site Attend all staff meetings, training sessions, workshops and conferences as requested or required Understand the need for and play an active role in the Annual Campaign & UW Campaigns Take the initiative to do what needs to be done Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance All other duties as assigned Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 15 Child abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire date Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness Experience working with children preferred Must maintain professional appearance, strong communication, organization and administrative skills Must believe in YMCAs philosophy and mission and willing to teach, model and implement character development values Must be flexible and maintain positive attitude

Ability to physically instruct, observe, and demonstrate proper gymnastic techniques. Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child. Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time on solid and uneven surfaces, including gymnastic floor mats Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate to small and medium size groups Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency Noise level is typically moderate, but can be sometimes loud
