ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Department of Child & Family studies (CFS) is committed to improving the well-being of individuals, children, and families with communities across the country through promoting respect, inclusion, development, achievement, mental health, and an optimum quality of life. We are a research-intensive Department that also hosts the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC) Master program, the online Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Sciences (RCDS), a Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Masters and PhD Programs, a master of Science Degree Program in Child and Adolescent behavioral health (MSCABH), and a Master of Art Program in Marriage and Family Therapy. The Department research portfolio is over $15 million and includes federal, state, community and private contracts and grants.
Faculty of the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program, were recently awarded a $9.9 million federal grant through the US Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration. The purpose of the project, titled Delivering Innovative Vocational Education through Virtual Reality Technology (DIVE-VRT), is to develop, implement, refine, evaluate, and disseminate, for easy adoption, a model program to transition youth (16-21) and adults (22+) with lifelong and acquired disabilities to competitive, integrated employment (CIE) in skilled trades. Our project falls under the topic area of Innovative Applications of Advanced Technology to Support Youth/Adults with Disabilities Leading to CIE. Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are integral to the project model, adoptability/scalability, and sustainability. A secondary aim of the project is to create an accessible, user-friendly website that contains project information, results, training, and resources to support DIVE-VRT participants and stakeholders, and to host a DIVE-VRT model replication process that utilizes both human and AI technology for site monitoring/ moderation, data collection, training, technical assistance, and support. Project activities will take place in the Tampa Bay area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The project coordinator will support the Project Manager with purchasing, travel, and other clerical tasks. This person will also conduct outreach activities to promote active partnerships with relevant agencies, organizations, and businesses, and aid in participant recruitment. This position will provide administrative support for key personnel and conduct coordination activities for participant orientation, advisory committee meetings, and evaluation activities as required by the third-party evaluator. This person will also support data collection and timely reporting throughout the grant period.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative support for key personnel including the two Project Directors and the Project Manager. Activities include purchasing project related equipment and supplies, coordinating project related travel, coordinating project related meetings and activities, taking meeting minutes, posting project related documents to the project Box file, and work plan monitoring.
Conduct outreach activities to promote active partnerships with relevant agencies, organizations, and businesses, and to aid in participant recruitment.
Conduct coordination activities for participant orientation, advisory committee meetings, and evaluation activities as required by the third-party evaluator.
Support data collection and entry, and timely reporting throughout the grant period.
Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM:
PREFERRED: The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating large projects and/or activities. Time management, organization, and detail-orientation skills are necessary. Some experience with purchasing and travel coordination is preferred. Experience developing partnerships and conducting outreach and recruitment activities is preferred.
