Prudential Group Insurance is seeking a highly skilled strategic thinker who has a deep knowledge of the group insurance competitive landscape to be the Vice President, Growth Strategy & Market Intelligence. The successful candidate will lead a team that is focused on utilizing internal and external data and information to formulate near-term and longer-term growth strategies. They will partner across the Group Insurance organization and provide group insurance industry competitive information to the enterprise level of Prudential.
Successful candidates in the role will develop trusted relationships across the group insurance business, synthesize data and information from industry studies, SEC filings, competitor marketing materials, 5500 forms, etc., and create actionable strategies in partnership with business partners.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is fully virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.
What you can expect:
Conduct Group Insurance specific market research & competitive analysis. Synthesize the information and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
Lead local market strategy development by partnering with Distribution, Product, Underwriting and Finance to determine and assess growth opportunities at the local and/or regional level.
Lead the development and on-going management of segment strategies through partnership with Distribution, Product and Underwriting to determine and assess growth opportunities at the business segment level.
Develop a framework for market and competitive analysis that can be leveraged for Product development. Support product development and new product evaluations by conducting research, analysis, and assessment to aid in helping product leadership and Senior Leadership Team make optimal strategic decisions.
Establish a system to provide regular updates on competitor activity related to Group Insurance.
What you'll need:
5+ years of experience in Group Insurance, with at least 3 years of experience working in strategy, finance and/or competitive intelligence function.
Action oriented with the ability to execute an operational plan set by Product and/or Group Insurance Leadership.
Strong external focus and deep knowledge of competitive practices and trends in the Group Insurance market.
Strong financial acumen proven expertise in developing financial pro forma and business cases.
Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, team orientation, and the desire and ability to work with business partners across the organization.
Adept at navigating ambiguous situations, demonstrating resilience, and operating in the "grey".
Ability to influence leadership on the development of the operational plans and product roadmaps.
Strong results-orientation, with the desire and drive required to accomplish stated objectives.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
